Dr. Natalie Raven

Natalie is currently working as an Associate Lecturer in the Performance department at Plymouth Marjon University. She recently completed her practice research Ph.D at the University of Plymouth under the generous supervision of Prof. Dr. Roberta Mock and Dr. Victor Ladron de Guevara. Her thesis titled 'Bodycloth in Performance Art' analyses a variety of inter-relations between body and cloth, as well as various modes of adornment and utilisations in order to understand the performance, experience, and presence of 'bodycloth' in performance art. It is available to view and download for free, here.

In addition to her role as Associate Lecturer, she is co-convener of the new Sustainability, Creativity, and Innovation Research Group (also known as Marjon SCION) in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Debby Cotton and Dr. Greg Borne at Plymouth Marjon University.

Natalie's creative outputs are crafted in response to her own personal-political and lived experiences, alongside research interests in liberal arts; performer training; performance art; feminism; sex and gender studies; scenography; and contemporary performance making.

She is a founding member of 'Church of Performance': a Plymouth based art collective ran in collaboration with Dagmar Schwitzgebel.
